The Cycleops Mag Trainer Without Adjuster is a strong and sturdy trainer that is built to perform and to last. Once set-up the trainer is easy to use and offers five resistance settings for variation in your workout. However, setting-up can be on the tricky side and the user manual offers little insight into the process. Don’t be fooled by the quick release system – its not that simple. My best advice would be to watch the Cycleops Trainer Install video on Youtube as it really explains the process in detail.

Once you have set up the trainer, the rest is pretty straightforward. This trainer pretty much does what it says on the tin and it does it well. No, it doesn’t measure your power output or cadence, but it will give you a great workout on a strong and solid base. As far as noise is concerned, it is pretty noisy as trainers go but one way to get around this is by changing the rear tyre to a smooth road tyre. If that is not an option, just crank up the volume on your telly and you will be okay.
You will feel perfectly secure on the sturdy CycleOps frame which actually also folds flat when not being used. It is also fairly lightweight so its a great turbo trainer to travel with.
If you want variation in your training you can use one of 5 settings to adjust the resistance on the Cycleops Mag Trainer Without Adjuster. However, you also have the option to use your own gears as per normal. The CycleOps settings can only be changed on the actual unit but you can purchase a separate CycleOps handlebar adjuster if you really need it. You will find the range of settings more than enough to compensate for different fitness levels.
Overall the Cycleops Mag Trainer Without Adjuster is a great value entry-level magnetic turbo trainer. It is perfect for someone looking for a quality piece of kit and a good training session, without breaking the bank.
