The Minoura Gyro V150 Turbo Trainer with Remote is a high quality, good value mid range turbo trainer. With a quick and easy set up and informative instructions to help you along the way, this trainer is designed to give you a great workout, particularly when sprinting.
The quick release handle means that you will be up and running in no time and equally you can quickly remove your bike at the end of the session. Unlike its older brother the V270, the V150 has a single solid fold out leg which ensures that the trainer remains sturdy regardless of how hard you are pushing.
This trainer does have the clever new foot pedal system that is also found on the V270 for fast set-up of the roller. When mounting your bike on the frame you have the option to micro adjust the roller pressure on your tire giving you optimum tire wear and longer life.
The resistance unit consists of a neodymium magnet which is what is used on the Tacx Satori and a 1.5kg flywheel all designed to give as realistic a ride as possible. It is not quite as good as the V270 in this respect but it isnt bad.
As far as noise is concerned this trainer is pretty quiet but you can get quieter magnetic trainers so if noise is an issue for you then I would recommend looking elsewhere.
The Minoura Gyro V150 Turbo Trainer with Remote fits every size of wheel from 24″ to 29″ including 700c and 650c. It also folds down small which makes it a practical choice if space is an issue or if you want to take a trainer to warm up and down at races.
The remote shifter works smoothly and with 7 different settings more than enough for all but the most demanding of cyclists. It attaches to your handlebars with a fabric quick release strap. The resistance distribution on the settings is evenly spaced and allows for a decent work out.
Overall a pretty decent trainer for the price but isnt going to blow you away if youre after a full feature set or very high resistance.
