Peter Sagan, Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali, Mark Cavendish and world champion Michal Kwiatkowski will all be training on Tacx equipment in 2015. They are being paid to do so, but the equipment still has to provide them with the training they need to succeed.
Tacx is sponsoring the WorldTour teams Etixx-Quick Step, Lotto-Soudal, LottoNL-Jumbo, Tinkoff-Saxo, Astana and also Europcar.
Tacx sponsors the teams with Tacx trainers, repair stands, bottle cages and bottles. These products are then used on a daily basis by the riders.
The riders also provide feedback to Tacx about the equipment and this feedback is used to improve the products.
The cyclists have been training on their Tacx trainers for months now and will have put in the punishing miles necessary to fight for the big prizes this year.
So, over to you, would you be more inclined to buy a Tacx trainer because it is used by the pros? Does this sort of sponsorship affect your perception of the product quality?
